Question 71% of the sentence??

I was wondering if anyone had heard anything about the time served going down to 71% instead of 85%... my guy asked me to look it up on the DOC site, and I couldn't find anything, though I'm still looking... He might just have heard a wishful-thinking-rumor.... but if anyone knows... please fill me in! Thanks

I think right now it is still just a rumor. I had heard that on other forums that I have been on but I dont think it is true as of yet. I think it gets voted on in Sept. sometime.

This is a rumor. Read through some of the other more recent threads and you'll understand the issues better to be able to explain them back to your guy. While there is a proposal by the FDOC to reduce 10% of their operating budget (which can be found if you chase my posts)...none of the plans proposed, which will be discussed at the Special Session on Sept 18, "pierce the 85% rule". It's not happening...it goes against Gov. Crist's position on Public Safety.

well its not so much a rumor-- it was proposed a while ago, yet apparently they still think it may happen because my husband wanted me to look it up as well, and when my dad was in a few years ago he asked the same thing. there is no way it will happen while crist is in office though. he was one of the main supporters to change it from 65% to 85%
