Default Poems, and Quotes...

Does anyone have any poetry they might have written, or maybe their incarcerated loved one may have sent, that they might want to share with us? What about a few, heartfelt "quotes" ? I always write a line or two, on the outside of my letters, and He does the same. Anyone else do anything similar?

I do - in the form of computer graphics - using the words, poems, or sayings in a graphic design (print it and hold as a card) - doesn't count a picture or photo and he love them. hangs them one his locker - after he show them around.

That's a neat idea! I can understand why he'd love them, and show them off... And it's something that he can "have", on the inside, that they allow! There aren't too many things, we can give our loved ones...
It takes time for you to do these things, and that means it's time you've spent, loving him...
I know there are alot of guys inside, who write some real "deep" poetry, and I'd really like to get a few of these on-line...
There are some real touching poems written by "we, in waiting," also!
So if any of you would like to share these, here's the place!
Looking forward to viewing a few!

Here's a poem I got off the internet, written by the wife of a "convict"

"Loving a Convict"

Loving a convict is not child's play.
Loving him, is a high price to pay
It's loving him, with nothing to hold...
Staying true, without being told.

Remembering the honesty, and promise to wait.
Laying alone, with your thoughts, when it's late.
It's the love song playing, and the lights down dim.
It's tough sleeping at night, while thinking of Him.
Knowing he's sooo far away, but praying it won't be such a heartbreaking stay.
Picturing him in a big empty yard
Always under gun, and guard.
Doing his best, to fight off the Clowns
but he's your Baby, and he'll hold his ground!
Laying alone, with your thoughts and fears
falling asleep, with your eyes full of tears.
Knowing 1st hand, that life can be tough!
That loving a Convict, would be so rough
But I know the man you are,
your commitment is true
We'll fight this war,
And in the end, get what's due.
Cause you belong to me,
And I belong to you...

How true this is!!!

Smile my sharing

this is one of 'sw's favorite hymns -
I take the words and do graphic
designs for him - print them and write in
them as you would a card - they do not even
count as pictures

I appreciate your creativity! I wish others would share their art work and crafts so we can share these ideas with our incarcerated loved ones...
Anything to encourage them, since our ways to share our love with them, is so limited!
Anything that will help raise their self esteem, and trust in mankind.
Which is why most of these men have gotten into trouble, to begin with!
Thanks!

Default This one he calls his 'Freedom picture'

The original photo is modified from when he was in the county detention center - his PD told him he would be out by Christmas - not to cut his hair. Didn't happen - I sent this to him - it's now taped inside his locker door (that is after he showed to everyone) -

printed on 8.5" x 11" - glossy photo paper

friends of mine - his sister included thought it was a picture of Jesus. LOL

I love doing these. He often gives me requests for other guys on his block.

Lightbulb WAKE UP CALL ! - sign for request of guards -

... this was a request to be used when napping or in the 'am' if still sleeping
(self explanatory )

... after I did it and sent it - he wrote to me that the arrow wasn't needed - LOL - the laugh was on him as it was in his note to me as to what he wanted.

Feel free to copy, print and send to your loved one.

... again feel free to copy, print and use!
have a nice day,
Karol

Default ... barky ... this is for you! ... I thought!

Enjoy,
Karol

ok - I give up - how can I send this to you??? - if I was home this would not be an issue - I may zip the file - e-mail to myself at home and then upload it to my Paint Bucket and load it to PTO - geez - but you are worth it!

Tigger Mom - I do it as a Lead Graphic Designer with a new organization and national magazine (we are all volunteers) - first issue of mag. should be out later this month - I mostly enjoy doing this to give to friends. Have done free lance work (pricing is my weak suit - do charge for computer grahic design such as logos, business cards and the like.

thanks for your nice words - artists like affirmation!
