Angry going to legislature about marriage in IDOC

well ladies i just posted this because I wrote a letter thru raymond Poe (senator) and HE suggested continuing my complaint thru govs office heres the thing i was told it ISNT necessarily a IDOC matter because the angency that insured these circuit clerks offices canceled the contract and refuses to insure them because of all the layoffs in the prisons have created security issues with the circuit clerks! they will NOt allow them to do a "writ" for marriage because it is not considered a legal matter so i suggest we get together a letter writting campaign or a petition for this matter because they are denying them their legal rights!

Glad to see someone is at last taking this matter further. I have written 3 letters to the Governor and got nowhere but I'm willing to do more if you want.
It is and never has been a problem within IDOC and they can do nothing to solve it. For once IDOC isn't to blame. I know I've got a nerve preaching like this when I'm not living in the US but Tony is in Menard and he can't fight from there.
As I've said before, and I've told Gov. Blagojavich this, all the County Clerks have to do is deputize a prison employee to get all the necessary forms filled in. It wouldn't cost the Clerks Office a cent and there ar plenty of Notary Publics working within the facilitiies who, once deputized, could get the licences signed. This information comes from a retired deputy Clerk and she says it is normal pactice in other areas so wouldn't be a problem in the prison system.
The Governor's Office can be emailed but remember to put your full name and address on the email or they won't look at it. I've done this on several occassions from here and always get an acknowledgement
The address is governor@state.il.us
If I can be of any help, Gina please let me know.
I'll be visiting Menard at the end of October and could let you have all the correspondance I have on this.
