Default A little boy's wish

My eyes were placed wide open when I walked into the room.
All these men were placed in rows and dated for their doom.
I called upon their attention for a stance at their door.
They did not seem to listen so I called out once more.
I walked around the building and glanced into each room.
I saw noone inside, only a note by a flower bloom.
A letter from God that stated, "I've taken everyone with me.
You don't have no worry cause I'll have them home by three.
Your shift will be all over and noone will ever know.
I'll bring them back as promised, but I have something I must show.
You have yourself some coffee and lunch if you please.
This is very important so freedom I must seize."
I walked from work that day about one minute until two.
I left kind of quickly because I didn't want noone knowing I knew.
I knew my boss would be asking , "What the hell has happened here?"
I didn't want to be the answerman because it really wasn't clear.
As I drove from the parking lot , my eyes played tricks on me.
I stopped and wiped my eyes because I could not believe what I see.
Men and women everywhere children running wild.
I thought for a minute I saw me playing as a child.
I saw God sitting on his throne and children playing all around.
They were climbing in and out of his lap, but he did not make a sound.
I said, "God, what is going on here; I thought you said by three?"
"That's exactly what I said my son. They'll all be on time you'll see."
"Lord why they all out playing, running, and happy as can be.
They're convicted, sentenced for punishment, and confined from all whom free.
They shouldn't be out here Lord."...... He stopped and said to me.
"You remember age 6y.o. and your mother gave you a birthday cake.
Before blowing out the candles, a wish that you must make.
You wished, "All daddy's friends were here and mommy's friends too.
You wished that summer had arrived and you were released from school.
You wished that everyone could play in the yard so young, so wild ,and free.
You said you wanted no restraints for all the world to see.
You see( pointing) the little boy in jeans and the shirt of blue.
Today, he's 6 y.o. with a birthday wish like you.
Now, run along my child before they realize it's you.
Oh yes! My son did you know it's only two?

Prepared and submitted for the incarcerated, their families, friends and especially "Death Row" prisoners....Happy visitation and "May God Bless You"........

Have a safe 4th of July...Sincerely...38 Special.

Ms. Budwoman:
You are certainly welcome and wish I could do more sometimes, but I have tied hands also. I wrote poetry alot of nights at work while sitting in a cubicle or tower. The "System" would not allow reading material on post nor a radio. They said we would be distracted and were probably right, but I sure got bored many nights with no conversation from anyone. Now, I have someone who wants conversation and Thank God almighty for people like PTO members with such diverse views and situations. I am saddened often when I see how crime affects each one of our lives. If Eve had just left the apple on the tree, would our world have been a better place. I would love a nice house in the "Garden Of Eden" right next to a huge lake, oak tree, all my PTO friends , and Oh YES, my internet...........Smiles of happiness......38 Special.

YOU KNOW GUYS, THIS IS ONE MAN THAT HAS REALLY GROWN ON ME.... I HAVE LEARNED TO LOVE HIM DEARLY.... WHEN HE FIRST STARTED POSTING, I WONDERED JUST WHERE HE WAS COMMING FROM, BUT NOW I REALIZE SO VERY MUCH ABOUT HIM..... HE IS A GOOD PERSON...... I SINCERELY HOPE THE VERY BEST FOR HIM AND HIS FAMILY. I HOPE THAT THE GARDEN OF EDEN DOES COME TO HIM AND I KNOW IT WILL....

I KNOW I HAVE LEARNED A LOT FROM HIM. A LOT ABOUT ME AND A LOT ABOUT OTHER PEOPLE.... HE HAS HELPED ME DEAL WITH BITTERNESS... I REALLY DO APPRECIATE THAT...

THANK YOU 38 SPECIAL..... YOU ARE IN MY PRAYERS AND THOUGHTS DAILY..

MY LOVE

To My Special Friend: Mr. 38 Special that is!

Wow, where was I when you posted this...yes I was on my way for a 4th of July Visit. Since you posted this, you and I have come to know just a little more of each other and I am so thankful for that.
I can hardly add anything more than what Donna has said, but I will emphasize that yes you are Very Special indeed!

I too wish that you will have that Garden of Eden and I'm pretty sure that you will see a lot of us there!!

*hugs*
Pamela

Dear Mr. 38Special...

the poem was beautyful- but what touched me soooooo much more- and the poem already did very much- was one of your posts after that. It revealed so much of you... you are a very thoughtful person! Thanks for this page- it said more about you than you might have intended!!!
