listening to family

I'm young, 17. I'll be 18 in october. As young as I am, i know that the love is real and since day 1, my parents and relatives have been telling me "what kind of life do u expect to live when he gets out", or "he'll never get a good paying job after being in prison" or "are you reay to support him". Althoguh i would give him the shirt off my back and my last dime, I worry that this is true. How hard is it to find decent emplyoment after being released? I dont want to be struggling with every penny forever. I know it wont be a simple road but is it gunna stay like that always?

It's very difficult sometimes to get a job after prison. It can be a long road of struggle to put it behind you, but it can be done.

I believe that our men can get a job. My boyfriend is very smart and can do just about anything he puts his mind too. He can always start his own bussiness or be a handyman or something like that. I too have thought about the future and what kind of life I would have but, if your with the right person together you can achieve the life you want. My family and friends tell me the same negative stuff that he could never give me the life that I want. But, who says he has to support the family. I have a college degree and plan on going back for my masters if I have to bring home the bacon because I can make more than that's what I will do.

I think that is the least to worry about is them getting a job....my biggest worry is him not getting into trouble again because in my boyfriends case if he does it will be for the rest of his life next time...that fear is always in the back of my head...haunting me!!!

Thanx for the support. I feel the same way. I'm willing to go into a branch iof the military to garuntee a paycheck and food on the table. My bf is the same way, very intelligent, and very talented. I'm willing to make the sacrafices needed to keep us together, because that in itself will give me the life ive always wanted.
I also understand your fears. Belive me, allll of us think about that. I put my foot down and told him that if he doesnt try his hardest to stay out of trouble, i have enough self respect to not be there when he gets out. I hope that will keep him motivated to be good.
