Cool It seems official...

I feel like my news/engagement is "real" now that Gino has told his mom. Before it was just between us and PTO. His mom said I was pleasant and polite on the phone and sounded educated (got her fooled- kidding). After that I told some people. Stuff like this really helps you to sort out your true friends. Those closest to me are not neccesarily thrilled but supportive none the less. They've seen the difference Gino has made in me. My outer ring of friends however reacted way worse than I imagined. I expected some voiced concern and them asking me if I've really thought this out etc.
Wrong!! Was told I can't marry him because Gino has nothing to offer and can't support me or contribute to my life. This was from my boss whom is also a friend. I'm just gonna refrain from talking about it in her presence. I'm glad this came out so I know to avoid the subject. My happiness isn't ruined

CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR OFFICIAL ENGAGEMENT MARY!!

YOU ARE RIGHT ABOUT THE FRIENDS THING-BUT THE REAL ONES WILL BE THERE FOR YOU--IS ACTUALLY A GOOD SCREENING PROCESS TO FIND OUT WHO YOUR REAL FRIENDS ARE

TOO MANY PEOPLE EQUATE "SMETHING TO OFER" AS HAVING TO DO WITH MONETARY OR MATERIAL THINGS- HOW SHALLOW IN MY OPINION

PEOPLE YOU LOVE AND THAT LOVE YOU CONTRIBUTE TO YOUR LIFE JUST BY BEING A PART OF IT

BLESSINGS!!!

Congratulations! I'm glad that you were able to talk to his Mom and make it all "official."

Just follow your heart...

Mary I totally know how you feel. Steven told his mom and all his relatives. It doesn't seem really real to me right now that I'm going to be his wife because he's in prison. But don't let them people talk you down. You've found someone that loves you and they just can't handle that. They'll find any reason to try and make you change your mind. I've been through it. Keep your head up girl!

MARY

CONGRATS ON YOUR OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT..... MAY GOD BLESS AND KEEP YOU IN YOUR ENGAGEMENT AND UPCOMMING MARRIAGE...

YES, YOU WILL RUN INTO ALL KINDS OF ADVISE AS TO WHY YOU SHOULD NOT LOVE A PRISONER.... SOME OF YOUR BEST FRIENDS IN THE WORLD WILL ALSO TELL YOU LATER TO GET ON WITH YOUR LIFE AND LEAVE HIM ALONE....

IT SEEMS THAT PEOPLE JUST DO NOT UNDERSTAND THAT EVEN THEY COULD BE PUT IN A PRISON IN A MINUTE OVER NOTHING.... OH WELL....

MAY YOU HAVE THE HAPPIEST ENGAGEMENT EVER.

LOVE YA
DONNA
