Default Just to let ya know what's been happening!!!

Hello everyone!!!!!! I know it has been a while since I last posted. My life is so crazy. I just had surgery Friday and now I will be home for a while so maybe I can get back in touch with all of you. I am getting along well and the children are all doing well. My Mother was moved to Goochland about three weeks ago. Things were so much better for her when she first got there. They actually treated her like a human, unlike the hell she went through at NRVRJ. But as always something had to screw up. They brought in a girl that is doing time for sexual assult and child pornography and my sister was the victim. So that presents a problem because Mom can't be in with someone who did these things to her daughter. Because my mom told them this they put her in isolation because she presents a threat to another inmate. She is only allowed 2 phone calls per month. She only gets 3 showers a week and thats at 5:00am. She gets to go outside in a 10/10 cell 3 times a week. She has to wear handcuffs anytime she is outside of her cell. The coolest it has been in there is 85 and that is in the middle of the night. They cut all of her hair off. When they took her through booking they did a complete physical and sometime in the regional jail she has had a heart attack. Could it have been because they thought it was fun to change her medication every other day and then take her completely off of all of it?? I feel sure. All in all she is still in better shape in isolation there than in population in NRVRJ. She is hanging in there and hopefully this week they are going to move her or the other girl so she can come out of the isolation. She says other than the heat its not so bad to have some quiet time alone. She studies the Bible every waking minute and God's protection is covering her. Her faith is stronger than any pain that man can cause and she will be strengthened by His word. "Fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul.Mat10.28 Please remember us in your prayers and I will remember you. I truly believe that the worst is over. When we get to go see her they allow human contact visits so the kids can finally hug their Granni. And the visits are 1-2 hours long. We have to drive 5 hours so she can even put in a request for longer and we can probably stay 3 hours!!!! Things are looking up. Thanks so much for the love and support from all of you and please feel free to PM me anytime. I will try to continue replying to as many threads as I can in hopes of helping someone or even to let them know they are not alone.

Love and Prayers,

Deanna

I hope you'll be healing well from your surgery, first of all. I'm glad you're able to be back with us for awhile. Thank you for updating us on your mother. I was just reading an article about Goochland on the Surviving the System website last night. I'm glad to hear she's being treated better and is doing as well as can be expected. Take good care of yourself and rest a lot while you recuperate. Rest is the best for healing.

That's just rotten that they stuck her in isolation just because it was her daughter who was the victim. SHE didn't do anything wrong to be landed in there! I can't believe that there is not a better way of avoiding a conflict between them. Have you written to the warden complaining about the situation?

She put in a request to be transfered or put out of isolation and directed it to the warden and they did put her back in receiving. She still has more restrictions but not like in isolation. Hopefully they are going to move her out into population this week. Thanks for the concern.

God Bless,
deanna
