Default Bland Correctional Center -visitation information needed

My man was recently moved to Bland. I need good directions on how to get to the prison once in bland county and where to go once i get there. It is scary not knowing where to park or go once you get there because most of these places dont have signs telling you where to go and I dont want to do anything wrong to jeopardize the visit. I also need to know how the visits go and what is allowed. Any help on this would be great.

You should re-post in the Virginia forum for the scoop on visiting there. There should be the general information like hours and such and you can find others who have been there.

I am moving this into the VA state forum so someone there who is more familiar with that facility can be of more assistance to you....

Here are the best directions I could find. Even doing a mapquest plopped it in the middle of nowhere.

Directions From Richmond:
Take I-64 West to Staunton. From there take I-81 South and West to the Dublin Exit. This exit puts you on State Route 100. Continue on Route 100 to the intersection of Route 100 and State Route 42 at Poplar Hill. Turn left from Route 100 onto Route 42 and continue for approximately 12 miles to the Center. There will be a sign reading "Bland Correctional Center" about three miles before you reach the institution.

Now I am going to move this to the Western Region. I would also suggest you look in there and see if anyone has posted about Bland. I would assume that most visits are the same from one place to another. Same type clothes, etc. Call to Bland and ask what times and days.
