Oak Park Heights?

I have just found out that my boyfriend, Anthony is going to be moved to Oak Park Heights. I don't really understand why because it is a max. security and he has gotten into 2 fights since he has been there a year ago. I don't understand why he must be moved to this place because it seems like it for the "worst of the worst" which my guy isn't. Can someone please try to explain this to me.

didnt mean to sound crass , im sorry , but in a year two fights may be frowned upon , seeing that those were actual fights , how many argeuments were stopped prior to fighting ??

He's being transfered from Rush City. He has been in the hole since middle July, and he hasn't gotten into any trouble since then. I don't know if its just me but it seems like its a bit extreme. Maybe its just me though. I don't know how many arguments he was in, its just one day someone stole his shoes and he wents nuts and beat some guy up and then went after him again.

Sometimes they do transfers for security reasons. Not to get too personal or anything, but is your man involved in any gang affiliations? I know that they move people around a lot to try to bust up the gangs. Also, If they receive more then 120 days in the hole, going to OPH is automatic, so that could be it too.

I spent 7.5 years in STW and OPH. I was in Unit 6 Education from 1993 - 1997. At that time Unit one was a sex and Drug unit (or a protective custody unit). Why Anthony was transfered to OPH maybe be determined by looking at the OPH offender site and it will say why he's in prison. Bye the way, OPH is a better prison than Stillwater. Men have more respect for each other there... because everyone's there for a serious reason.

Remember, too, that they're running out of room like crazy! My man's been moved twice in 2.5 years for no real reason...

Anthony was moved due to fighting.
1 fight ain't nothing big but if there are more than one with the same people/affiliations then they are going to move the easiest person[s] to move out of the facility. Bed space at a medium security is extremely valuable to the DOC so that removes three options for transferring an inmate out of a facility, especially one that is a discipline issue. That leaves OPH, STW and SCL as options and OPH is usually reserved for the 'worst of the worst' and STW houses a lot of older inmates. SCL is usually the place that RC transfers discipline issues to because they can trade one seg inmate for two or three or even five regular inmates that can go right to population.
Also one thing to consider is the actions of the inmate when they are in segregation. If they get in a fight and mess the other guy up good, that isn't always going to guarantee a free trip out of a Level 4 prison to another Level 4 or 5 [OPH].
If the guy continually acts up or threatens to act up, then the facility will send guys out of that prison. Acting up may be threatening staff, inmates or possession of weapons.....
