Default Invisable Mailman

The Invisible Mailman

The strangest thing happened today,
An invisible mailman passed my way,
He handed me an envelope that just wasn't there.

An invisible mailman, you know it's quite rare.
I opened the envelope so very wide,
To find less than nothing deep inside.

The smell was so faint, as I recall.
In fact, there was no smell at all.
The writing was so neat and so very clean,
So crystal clear that it couldn't be seen.

I read the words that I expected to be there,
But, all I could see was invisible air.

I need to hear sweet words, only from you.
But the letter I wanted never came through.
Don't get me wrong, I'm still deeply in love,
That will never end, it comes from up above.

So, I'm writing you back, with love you can bet,
Saying thanks for the letter that I never did get.

I hope very soon, you'll think twice,
And pay close attention to this bit of advise.

I'm locked up, but only for now,
All things change, some where, some how!

I could be out there where things are much better,

With your ass in here,
Expecting a letter!!!!

UNDERSTOOD-I REALIZE THE IMPORTANCE OF LETTERS-BUT OUR LOVED ONES HAVE TO REALIZE THAT WE HAVE HUGE RESPOSIBILITIES OUT HERE--LIKE WORKING TWO JOBS, RAISING SIX KIDS ETC... AND WE DONT HAVE THE "DOWN TIME" THEY DO TO SIT AND WRITE LETTERS DAILY- HELL, SOMETIMES WE ARE JUST TOO TIRED!!

I love it!! I have to send this to JD... it will make him smile.. he does write me and I know he pouts if a day goes by when he doesn't get mail.. even though he KNOWS I write him everyday and if he goes a day without a letter, he knows he will have a day when he gets two!! Letters are pretty much all we have right now... and for awhile we were deprived of our correspondence... so I know it's something neither of us take for granted!!! Excellent poem though!! thanks for sharing it!

IT IS HARD TO WRITE DAILY BECAUSE THERE ARE OTHER THINGS TO DO ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE CHILDREN.... I DON'T DO THAT EITHER.... AT LEAST TWICE A WEEK I SEND EITHER A CARD OR LETTER.... RENEE WRITES TWO OR THREE TIMES A DAY, BUT SHE GOES HOME EACH AFTERNOON AND STAYS THERE MOST OF THE TIME..... BLESS HER....

BEAUTIFUL AND VERY FUNNY POEM TOO.....

MY LOVE
DONNA

My man is great about calling when he says he is going to (and he can), he also writes me almost everyday. I know however, when my letters don't get there swiftly (i write everyday, sometimes twice in a day), I know he gets worked up. He won't write me for one day......more out of paranoia on his part (i think), than a payback. Then when I don't get any, I don't want to write him out of my own paranoia. It's stupid, has anyone gone through this, or gotten through this?

Mizz,
My man and I did this at first but now we go on faith that it is the mail system holding things up. We know how much we love each other and know how much a letter means to each of us. What you 2 are going through is normal and we still go through it. It helps to communicate about each others feelings when you get mail and when you don't ... then have faith in each others love. I bombard him daily and sometimes more than once a day as you wrote and he does the same for me and the children. IT'S A LOVE THANG!

Ken, I like the poem. I can not imagine being inside and not getting mail. That is hard!

I liked it too...Thanks for sharing it Ken...
For us on the outside we can only imagine the importance and comfort our letters bring them the day they arrive. I wish I could get one to Vic everyday... I'm pretty close, so I'll have to just keep going as I am....
