MadMist..this rally is really picking up alot of esteem from all over Chicago....I'm one of the organizers for the far northside. Upon visiting some shelters and half-way houses people had already heard about the Rally...so it's growing in popularity. Hopefully it'll be a really good turn out and I'm really hoping we get some CSPAN coverage beyond the news.....either way Saturday Aug. 2 will make American history....
As to the question about the I.D. I think Barber McKinney is referring to how difficult it can be for alot of exoffenders to obtain I.D.. She mention that she's trying to get the Secretary of State to have a booth of some sort to actually help exoffenders get ID at the rally along with voters registration cards. And if you really want the specifics feel free to call Barber McKinney she's a very exciting woman to meet and is determine to bring balance to this problem. And again her number is 773-928-2500....
Hope to see you there.

ps.Anybody that's wants to meet up to make picket sign boards for the rally, lets try to arrange something. I'm on the northside but we could all meet some place like the Harold Washington Library. Or we could meet up the morning of the Rally.

three days left to the rally and march for the Restoration of Rights to Ex offenders.......I've been pushing flyers on the north side of Chicago....all along Howard street froom Sheridan to Ridge....all down MOrse Avenue.....Granville and Thorndale......and I still have alot of work to do in Uptown....
So for everybody is excited about this rally/march. It's such a beautiful expression to tell people that have just(less than two days) gotten out of prison, cause it gives them hope. So hope to see everyone out for the March....this Saturday Morning at 8:30am....Aug. 2nd.....bring all your issues with you....
Love and Unity

Sorry that I won't be in chicago until the evening of the 17th. I would have loved to have been a part of it. I'm visiting Stateville and then Lawrence to see extended family.
the rally and the march was a humble intiative but a very exciting morning. we didn't get the numbers we expected..but we were a couple hundred strong and march for a lil over a mile from 95th to 111th street with a police escort. There were alot of people on their porches and honking their horns as we shouted "education NOT incarceration" and "X means EX" and "restore our rights!!!".....the police didn't like it but we didn't have any problems...and overall we sent out a message with bravery...and I look forward to marching with DCP next year.....
sorry I missed you guys out with us today
