I have found Access is a far better company to deal with than Walkenhorst's; I just had more trouble with Walkenhorst's and Access was like skating on glass.
Eating crow here....munch, munch, munch....lol Not real impressed with Access either after the phone call today from my honey; things are missing from the package and they put in some cereal he never ordered and doesn't like. Access won't deal with me so I have to wait until the property officer contacts them.
We attempted to try Walkenhorsts by ordering online. The problem is that the 2006 catalog they make available to the men doesn't indicate whether an item is approved for SQ or the other institutions for that matter.
Several (10+) item codes came up not available. I asked about what was going on because my total order would have come up to about $300. Walkenhorsts' explanation was that some of the items "should have" been available and they will correct those. The other items were simply not approved for SQ.
I spoke with Access this morning and the property officer had already called and the items missing have been shipped out at no charge to me; all's well that ends well....lol
So can anyone tell me if inmates in reception can receive anything other then stamps? I want to send him a package but I am assuming he can't receive anything yet. Can he receive a special package from SecurePak?
Id hold off on the pkg just yet. Wit till you know wheres hes gonna be and how they classify him. It all depends how they classify, your allowed diff items in each priveledge level, ect
i personally like access. ordering with them is very easy, customer service is helpful and they ship fast. ive never tried walkenhorsts. they're way too expensive. you get more for less with access in my opinion.
I have only used Access and have had no problems. You can indicate that you don't want substitutes if things are out of stock.
What I do is I input my order online and then click on the edit key, print it out and call in the order. That way, I just read off the item number and the quantity and they imediately tell me if something is out of stock so I can choose something else. I want his package to be for the total 450 oz. It is not a gurantee that everything will be in stock by the time it is shipped but I have usually gotten everything that was ordered.
I did have one time when I ordered a CD Headset and was charged for it and my son received a new CD player instead (cost way more than what I was charged)!!!!
