Anyone live in Las Vegas, NV and have a Loved one in CA Prison? I Have a ?? 4 U!

Hey Everyone!

I have a question, I am about to move to Vegas, and my sweetie will be here in CA. I know out here we can now have MCI as our local Phone carrier to save with the hassle of getting them as a Long Distance carrier and so fourth.

Do I have that option in Vegas?

Or do I have to use Embarq/Sprint and get MCI as my Long Distance carrier and do the old school way?

Any help is much appreciated! Thanks Chicas!

As a business customer in the Vegas area with almost 9 locations there, I would double check about having someone other than Sprint as your local carrier as they are the local carrier for all 9 locations and then if I choose to change the long distance, I can do so but I still get just one bill.

I live here in Las Vegas. When my BF was housed in CC Detention Center I had a block on my phone. I had to call Evercom. They handle over 2000 correctional facilities though out the US. IMy BF just got transferred to Chino this weekend, so I am not sure if Evercom covers CHINO's lines. I will be calling them to find though. When I do I will let you know.

Pm me and I will tell you what I did. I live here in Vegas and my husband is in Chino. I went from $20 a call to only $3.75.

I moved here to Las Vegas a year ago, and yes you have to go through Sprint. His calls cost me more here than in LA.

I go thru PCO...hpw much does sprint charge..He's almost out so it really doesnt matter but i was just curious cindy

las vegas uses Sprint but MCI bills for the collect calls. The calls are $19.19 for 15 minutes. The calls used to be $8 when I had PCO. But I got a ## from At&t and it's only $3.75 now.

I didn't even bother since I didn't want any more bills while he was gone. It was only 3 months, we survived and better off now for the experience. Letter writing is an awesome why to learn all about someone. Being that we had only been dating 2 months when he went in, the letters he wrote gave me the chance to know him better than if he was out during that time I think. Some things are easier written then spoken.
