Hi confusedinpa:Since your man has expressed a desire to get clean, then there is a good chance he means it. You cannot help the fact that he is in the same prison with a 'friend' who actively uses. Sometimes we have to let go , and let God - in reading your previous posts, I know that you have faith. This is one of those times where you will have to step out on faith, and believe everything your man is telling you - for now. Be aware of any changes in him, but do not let the worry consume you. One of the things addicts are taught is that they cannot be around old friends, old neighborhoods, people or places that would serve as any kind of 'trigger' for them to start using again. He will be taught this, if he is in a program or getting help. My advice to you is to stand strong, keep supporting him in his quest to 'get and stay clean'. Pray together, if possible. Yes it is normal to 'be scared', but just don't let it consume you. Take it one day at a time. Hugs!
