I have AT&T and my fiance says his calls get denied. he has sent message on when to be home and i did that never recieved the call. I now forward my home phone to my cell phone. I heard a rumor that AT&T doesn't allow collect calls from prison. Does anyone know if this is true?
Same thing happened to me and I called AT&T and they told me they do not allow calls from correctional institutions to be billed through them. I had to do a pre pay with a company - sorry can't remember the name- and then he could call cuz it was billed through this other company. I know there are company's that offer this service. Hopefully someone else will be able to give you a company neme. Good luck finding one.

AT & T does allow collect calls from prisons because I used to have a penpal in NJ and his calls came on my SBC bill as billed through AT & T. As a matter of fact, when I first started to get them, AT & T placed a collect block because they racked up a bill fast ($20 for a 15 min call!) and then I had to pay AT & T directly over the phone with my credit card for them to unblock my line from collect calls.
But I don't deal with this long-distance company nonsense anymore, I have a pre-paid phone account for my fiance' to call me with and NO MORE BLOCKS!! YAY!
If anyone wants details, PM me : )
I have AT&T and they dont allow you to accept collect calls. You should call the prison and ask them what carrier they use and go from there. I use MCI for my collect calls.

I have been through this, can you get mci, as far as i know they are the only ones that allow collect calls from prisons. It's a racket!! Call his counselor and she can give you a 800 number for mci, than you call them and they won't cut his calls. They were very understanding and nice when i called.
