Default A life lost to Crystal Meth, crank, ice, speed ....

Scotty, although I lost you along time ago ... I never stopped hoping that one day you would get clean and sober. I wanted you to overcome. I wanted that so badly for you. I only wish it could have happened, but unfortunately it didn't. Now the only hope is that in your final hours you made peace with our God, he took you home to be with him and now you are FREE from the bondage of Meth.Your departure has left a great hole in my life. I do and will miss you deeply. Although we were not together. I found solace in knowing you were out there somewhere in this big wide world. Now, you are gone and I feel the loss. How painful it is. I can't imagine what you must have thought or felt during the last few days of your life, but I hope you realized why I fought so hard to try to get you to quit using. It was because I loved you and I didn't want you to die ... Unfortunately, my love was not enough to save you from yourself. As well as tears and worry, you brought me many smiles and laughter. You gave me three beautiful children and lots of memories both good and bad. I will always remember you and your helpfulness n kindness towards others and your "Scottygolucky attitude". I will miss you my friend and I look forward to seeing you drug-free and sober in heaven.

With much love and fondness,
Sher

Scotty struggled with a drug addiction to Methamphetamine AKA Crank, Crystal, Meth ... Ultimately he lost his life to the drug ... As long as I have known Scott, he always snorted and on rare occassions smoked the drug, but as I understand he had been shooting up and as a result he got a bacterial infection (cellulitis) ... (which he probably thought was just an abscess) he more then likely tried to treat it himself and when he realized that he couldn't and it was getting worse he then went to the hospital, but he had waited to long because it had turned into staph + necrotizing fasciitis. He lived for seven days until his body went into septic shock and he had a cardiac arrest and died.

I share his story on a memorial site that has been created in his memory. If you would like the link PM me or just (just use a search engine .. google or which ever one you prefer) type in his name and it will take you to his story.

Scotty was a wonderful person and loved to be helpful. If Scotty's death can reach out and help just one person then he died not in vain.

I just wanted to say how sorry I am for your loss. I myself am a recovering meth addict and have many loved ones that are still in active addiction. It is so hard to watch them slowly killing themselves everyday. thanks for sharing your story...it did touch my heart. love and prayers for you and your family.

It's heartbreaking to watch your loved ones in a deathly grip of meth or crack and witnessing them slowly fading away. My sister just cannot stop and is fighting every single day trying to stay clean. I have a great compassion for the addicts for I am an addict myself. It's a great struggle trying to help her when I try to stay clean myself.
Your story really is just sad. Yet he really is free from the struggle he had to endure. May the Lord forever hold Scotty in His Loving Arms. Thank you for sharing.
