Default Does Anyone Know what happened to darlie routier

darlie was put on death row in texas for the alleged killing of her two sons with a knife stateing there was a break in at her home she had a terrible gash cut in her throat and her 2 boys were lieing dead as she called 911.

I am not judgeing her innocents or guilt I was wondering if she got her death sentence over turned or is she waiting execution or is she in gone now.

I dont know her personally but i follwed her storie from the beginning and now lost touch with what was going on.

Any information would be greatly appriciated.

Last I heard she is still on death row. Here is the link to the TDCJ website

From last I heard she was still in appeals for her sentence. There is a website out there for her but I can't seem to find it right now. If I locate it I will pm it to you.

Cafe Press recently released a group of t-shirts with nice artwork, as well as a poem by Darlie, imprinted on them. They can be found at http://www.cafepress.com/999149/2684167 for anyone who wants to take a look.

To my knowledge, this is the first "support material" to be available for Darlie in some years.

As for the status of her case, an appeal is pending involving significant new evidence. Unfortunately, it has been delayed repeatedly by prosecutors and I don't even know if it is scheduled at all at the moment.

I am not at liberty to discuss details, but general questions and comments are welcome.

Darlie is a beautiful person and I am proud to be her friend. I really hope things go well with the re-testing of evidence. It is about time!

Darlie's case is at a critical juncture with a Federal court having recently ordered the release of a large amount of physical evidence for DNA and other testing. That testing is about to begin. However, it cannot be done at no charge, and while the state will likely pay for a portion of the testing, her attorneys must come up with a significant amount of money as well. $50,000 is the amount currently being mentioned.

I do not write this to solicit funds (though fundraising efforts are in progress and suggestions would certainly be welcome), but to raise what may well be one of the most fundamental questions in a capital case: what is the value of a human life? If the money is not raised and Darlie dies because evidence which will almost certainly clear her name is never properly examined, the state of Texas will have provided an answer.

And if that comes to pass, we will each be able to look ourselves in the mirror and remind ourselves that in the eyes of the law, none of us is worth the price of a luxury car. I hate to use the phrase, but yes, sometimes truth truly hurts.
