Hi there, I just copied this right from MDOC's website for you, basically what a Level 2 is...a good thing!
" Level I - VI prison housing - In general, the higher the security level, the more security risk a prisoner presents in terms of manageability or escape potential. Level I has a single security fence and does not house sex offenders; Secure Level I can house sex offenders and has full security perimeters; Secure Level I and above all have secure perimeters which include double fences, razor ribbon and a perimeter detection system; Levels III and above all have gun towers. Some prisons have more than one security level."
Basically the lower the level the more privlieges that they guys get to have. They get to keep mor of their property and spend more on their store. I believe that Level II can have 7 visits a month as well but remember that only 2 can be on weekends. If I am mistaken on that I'm sure that someone will come along to correct it. Hope he is transferred soon. Good luck!
I just talked to my baby. He is doing so much better. Thank God! i told him about PTO and he was so happy I`m getting support from you guys. He told me to ask if somebody knows about good time. I think there`s no good time in michigan, but I`m not sure. he got 16 to 24 months. Is he gonna stay 16 months until he gets his first chance for parole or can he get out before 16 months? how this work? Somebody told him he can gets out in 6 months? is that true? I just dont want to get too excited about that.
Michigan doesn't have good time. Alot of what he'll have to do will depend on if he is classified as a violent or non-violent offender but in most cases he won't go before the parole board until its close to his ERD.
Nope it doesn't change anything. He will not be able to go see the board until just berfore his ERD. So far in Michigan there is no good time so he has to serve at least his minimum sentence before he can be considered for parole. He won't be out in 6 months if he has to serve 16-24 months.
