Question Wedding Invitation?!?!?

I don't know if this goes with the topic but I was wondering if it was appropiate to send wedding invitations for to friends and family on the visiting list?

I think so...why not? they are part of your lifes, right? if you want to do this marriage privately, you can always send an announcement after the wedding too. saying something like:we want you toknow that we are married on that date....I don't know who's on the visitors list and if people can attend a marriage in prison?

I would check on the prison policy for how many people can be present before you send out invitations.. but if they allow people to be there, then I think it would be nice to invite people to share in your special moment....
I had a guy in my program get married when I worked inside and they were only allowed to have two people present... their witnesses only....
Let us know!

Check with the prison first. Then check with your soon to be hubby and see what he wants to do.

Definetly check with the policy for the prison. I'm not sure on the number I can bring but I know my daughter can be there when Todd & I get married.

I'm not sure about where you are but we have to use a confidential marriage license here in California.

Because of this, we are going to do the HUGE black tie wedding ceremony in a church when he's released.

I would send out announcements.

If the prison allows it and your future husband wants to, I would do it and then have at least a reception once he comes home. Wayne & I eloped and a couple of weeks later had a reception, very casual, and had it catered. We spent about 1/10 of what we would have on a wedding and had a great time. We didn't plan to have the reception until we were on our way home from getting married, but decided we wanted to get our families together. It was a lot of planning, but I think that was the fun part!

Thanks for the ideas guys. The most people that can come is six, including me so that leaves five; oh wait and his friend who is an inmate too he says he's the best man so that leaves four. I just wanted to send out invitations to the ceremony to the people that's left on the visiting list. I think they have to be on the list I'm not sure. But I did want to have like a post-wedding party when he gets out. Something like renewing of the vows.

We won't marry until May 17, 2003. I didn't want a cold winter wedding and I start school is the fall so that was the best time. Plus I'll have time to get my head straight.
