Hi....
I'm going to visit my husband for the first time since he moved to Corcoran. His housing is 3C 05......so I guess he's on the C yard???? Any info about visiting or about Corcoran prison in general would be great. Thanks!

Hi, corcoran prison is alright. But they are really strict on the physical contact. Jewelry: you can only wear one ring, one pair of earrings, and one necklace. Clothing: nothing too low cut on the tops or remotely see through. You may get away with a tank top but it has to be a grandma looking sort of tank top like wide on the shoulder strap part. Be sure if you do wear short sleeve or sleveless you bring a sweater cause they crank up the air conditioner in there. Once you get in the "RIGHT BUILDING" as you said your man is in D yard? so the building that you will enter is the last in the parking lot. (I think there are 3 of them.) The first time I went, I was in line in the A building! (Wrong one for me) I wasted an hour. That place gets really packed. Not like the C,D,F building. There, you'll go right through in about 20-30 minutes. Once walking in, get in the first line to pick up a pass, fill it out. at the bottom of that pass, they'll ask you to put your CDL # and exp. date. get in the 2nd line to drop it and your ID off. Wait for them to call your name. (for those intrested and who know what I mean.... they don't look too hard to see if the pic on the ID looks much like you, and they run it manually not by the strip) ha ha.. nevermind. I hope this helps you girl. Have a safe drive. Also.. the Corcoran country Motel gets full by Saturday afternoon. the cost for one person it's pretty cheap like $43.00. No deposit required. I paid cash. But it gets full quick. They have another place in town "budget inn" I hear its pretty raunchy. Otherwise there is a more expensive and nicer place about 18 miles away off of 11th ave. "Best Western Hanford inn." I think it was$74. a night. If you don't have a credit card they ask for a $60. cash deposit. I used a credit card that was maxed out. worked fine since they don't run it through the machine. I prefer the country inn, cause it's close and does have everything I need. I asked to borrow an iron which the lady had me go pick up from someone elses room. I had no problem with the accomodations at all. It has a familar feeling to it because most everyone there is going to visit someone at the prison
