Early release possible for agg sex. assault?

Is it possible for someone who is in for agg sex assualt be released early? He was sentenced for 18 years but has to serve 9 years. Any ideas?

In Texas you have to serve 50% of your time before you become eligilble for parole when you have an aggravated charge. The only chance that he has to get out before the 15 years is up is if he makes his parole when he comes up in 9. But the 9 years is mandatory to serve.

most agg. sex offenses are doing 85% of time on avg. depending on which region one is in...
