Default Hi

Im so glad to finally be here. Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Sara My best freind (X husband) is in the SHU it hurts my harte so much when i think about all the things this man is going threw. He does not tell me much cause he dosnt want me to worry. I too feel safe in a selfish way that he is not on the main line at least I know that is locked up away from harm but is he really sometimes our mind and memories can be our worst nightmare. We have 3 great kids and he keeps in contact with them as best he can. He has been down 8 years the last 3 at the SHU. I live in north cali and it is quite a ride to go visit behind the glass. My harte feels so much sorrow with the knowlegde that this man can not even hold his 1st grandson my daughters miss their dad so bad I see it in their eyes the hurt and pain when their friends talk about the things they did with their dads. But on the flip side they have me and they know that I am down for them no matter what I dont intend to take the place of their father but they know that come hell or high water i got their back to the fullest. My baby boy was 12 when his daddy got took I have to be the one to keep him on his toes but im also the one that hugs him and tells him that I love him. "Wow where did all that come from" well anyways thats some of my story hope I didnt bore anyone. I look forward to getting to know you all.

Much love

Sara

Hi Sara and welcome to PTO! I have a son in the SHU at Pelican Bay so I can really relate to your thoughts. I use to worry all the time about my “baby boy” oh he really hates it when I say that LOL. He has been in the SHU for the last 10 years or so, it is a very hard place to spend your life. I was not so worried that someone would hurt him as I was that if he got into any scuffle of any kind they could give him another strike. I feel much more relaxed with him in the SHU and I know that is a very selfish but what can I say I am the mama. I think the most important thing you can do is keep in close contact with him because the SHU is really a mind game. You and your children can help to keep him strong by being there for him and keeping him updated on what is going on out here. Love Barbara

Hi Sara!

Welcome to PTO and I can relate to the kids having a rough time with their dad being in. All of ours go thru it at different times especially our 8 year old....Hang in there..

Hi, Sara:

Glad you found us. I have a couple of pen pals at Pelican Bay, one of whom's a fantastic artist and the other a straight shooter. Now that you found us, don't be stranger.

My "soulmate" is also in SHU at Pelican Bay (I recently found him after many years, so we just recently started writing to each other). I had asked him if there was anything I could send him and he said, "I have all of the above covered, thank you . . I refuse to take any money from you because you need it for your kids . . all I really need is your friendship . . to tell you the truth I have what I need to be comfortable. I have plenty of reading and writing materials, I have a T.V. and my homies are all around me. Not to mention I work out every day to keep my body and my mind strong, so I feel good and love my life. But I love it more with you back in my life." And in another part of the letter he tells me "Oh, and don't worry about me because I'm a grown man and I could take care of myself. I know I'm not in the best place in the world but I could do this time. I been locked up most of my life so I'm used to it already. And you best believe I will never give up trying to get out because I love myself too much to stop fighting a good fight . . ." He's 33 and been in and out of jail/prison since he was 15. He last went in in 1996 for 108 years to life under the 3 strikes law. And he did not even hurt anyone! It's so unfair. This is his second trip to SHU, has been in there for 2 years and goes up for consideration for release from SHU in 6 months. But he is so upbeat and positive in his letters. He encourages me more than I encourage him! He says he's very strong-minded and focused on his lifestyle, and he does not let his situation get him down. So I felt much better from his letters. So don't feel bad, because your X is probably doing better than you think, too.

And everyone here in Prison Talk Online is absolutely wonderful!! YOu have many friends here!
