Senator Jackie Speier/Prison Visiting

Hello all,

Last Saturday September 17, 2005 I attended a luncheon and forum on
prison reform in San Luis Obispo. The panel of speakers consisted
of Senator Jackie Speier, Dr. Joseph Abrhams, and William ( Bill )
Pruitt. All three spoke of the need to reform and bring in line
Calif. prisons.

While we were eating lunch Sen. Speier came over to our table and
shook hands and asked what our interest in prison reform was. We
told her and her response was maybe a hearing on visiting is in
order.

Here's my request to all who are reading this.
PLEASE WRITE, FAX, WHATEVER, AND LET HER KNOW THAT WE WOULD LOVE TO
HAVE A HEARING ON VISITING. I DON'T BELIEVE ONE OR TWO LETTERS WILL
DO THE JOB BUT FEEL FREE TO SEND THIS TO ANY PRISON REFORM GROUP YOU
ARE ASSOCIATED WITH. I FOR ONE WILL WRITE AND I DO ENCOURAGE
EVERYONE TO DO THE SAME. TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENC AND
FLOODING HER OFFICE WITH A REQUEST FOR A HEARING AND THEN FLOODING
THE HEARING ROOM ( STANDING ROOM ONLY ) WOULD BE IN OURS AND OUR
LOVED ONES BEST INTEREST.
PLEASE WE HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY TO MAKE OUR VOICES HEARD, IT'S TIME WE
ARE HEARD, PLEASE DO YOUR PART TO TRY TO MAKE THIS A REALITY.
