Question 5150/5250 and Visitation Approval....

Okay, maybe I'm paranoid, but I haven't gotten my approval back yet, and I'm wondering if a 5150/5250 from 2 years ago would show up. It's not an arrest. It's part of the Welfare and Institutions Code, where they can hospitalize you if you're a danger to yourself and/or others.

Do you think that would show up on my record and be a factor for approval? Any help would be appreciated.

thanks,

k

It could be. ANYTHING on your record could be.
How long has it been?

Your ARREST record is what is in question NOT your hospital records. I do not know what 5120 is but if it close to what 5150 is and you were NOT arrested then that should have NOTHING to do with your visiting approval at a prison.

Thanks. I called the prison directly and she said unless I was arrested/booked/given some sort of number it wouldn't matter.

It was a 5150 (72 hour hold) and a 5250 (up to 14 days, but I didn't stay that long) and it was just over 2 years ago.

I was just being paranoid I guess. Wondering if they can keep me out because they think I'm crazy

even though the police have the power to initiate a 5150 hold it should not show as any type of criminal record only as a medical record.
