As of Saturday August 20, 2005 the prison is not allowing flip flops, shower shoes, any type of a thong looking shoe ( forget trying to wear any fancy thongs, like leather high heals, ect!!) or the sports slip ons. Also, all sandles must have a back strap. And, they're not allowing any tank tops to be worn. I believe the rule is ( Their rule? Who knows? ) is 3 inches along the shoulder for a sleeveless top. Basically, from your neck to your arm.
A good rule to follow is to ALWAYS bring a extra pair of tennis shoes with you and a extra pair of clothes.
Damn, they change rules fast, huh? Last week I was there with sandals that had no back, and didn't have a problem. I noticed a lot of women had those the last two times I visited. Were a lot of people turned away?
Only one person was turned away and she was wearing Nike slip ons. The CO said they were shower shoes!! And they gave her directions to the Walmart!! It's insaine!! I am sure today (Sunday) there was a whole lot people getting turned away and all of them totally angry!! Especially waiting 3 hours and then having to leave!! I am glad I didn't visit today!!
