California Substance Abuse Treatment Facility, Corcoran (SATF)Topic and discussion specific to CSATF- Substance Abuse Treatment Facility located at Corcoran State Prison in California.
um.. anyone know if it is okay to include stamps in the mail? he said he needed more stamps and i just bought some and stuck them in the envelope. is that okay? i hope so!!
I DON'T THINK RECEPTION CENTERS ALLOW YOU TO MAIL STAMPS. WHEN MY HUSBAND WAS IN DELANO(NORTH KERN STATE PRISON) RECEPTION I USED TO SEND HIM STAMPED ENVELOPES THAT YOU CAN GET AT THE POST OFFICE BECAUSE STAMPS WEREN'T ALLOWED. IN CASE ANYONE ELSE WAS WONDERING
I have never in twenty years been able to send stamps into a prison in California. Of course my son has not been in every prison in California it just seems like it. I have always had to send in stamped envelopes from the post office. Barbara
Corcoran allows stamps alone or the stamped envelopes, and the max at a time is 40.
Also allowed is stationary (as in legal pads, 3 max, no metal or plastic binding though). Also, no fancy card type stationary allowed as in the kind used to make cards. Of course, printed cards you buy over the counter are alright, they just don't want the cons to be able to make money making cards inside, so no blank card type professional paper.
No lipstick prints and no stickers allowed on any of the mail.
8x10 photos are the largest allowed photos.
Manilla envelopes are fine to send things in but none with pading.
I got the above from the mailroom CO this week so it is current information on COR.
~note: every prison has different rules regarding everything so it is always best to check with the prison in question and the department in question.
