Default Visiting questions about Corcoran

Hi, my son just got transferred to Corcoran SATF (Calif) and I cannot access the visitors portion of thier website...it will not open for some reason. I would like to know the drill for Corcoran...visiting days and times, criteria. Also, will our visitor's approval be automatically transferred with my son to this new facility (he was in Lancaster, LA County). Also, anyone's experience of visiting at this facility. Any info would be greatly appreciated! thanks, Pamme S.

HI PAMELA, I'M NEW HERE. BUT MY HUSBAND IS ALSO AT THE SATF/SP. ALTHOUGH I HAVE NOT YET VISITED HIM THERE. I CAN ASK FOR YOU. I DON'T KNOW WHAT YARD YOUR SON IS IN BUT MY HUSBAND IS IN C YARD AND AS FAR AS I KNOW THEY ARE STILL ON LOCKDOWN HOPEFULLY IT IS NOT THE SAME FOR YOUR SON. THIS I CAN TELL YOU AT THE SATF/SP WHEN YOU FIRST ARRIVE THEY GIVE YOU LIKE A WEEK TO GET SETTLED AND HE MIGHT GET TO USE THE PHONE RIGHT QUICK. OTHER THAN THAT THE VISITATION APPROVAL FOLLOWS HIM WHEREVER HE GOES. IF YOU HAVEN'T HEARD FROM HIM THOUGH IT'S PROBABLY BECAUSE HE HASN'T SEEN HIS NEW COUNCELOR. LIKE I SAID I'LL TRY TO GET THAT OTHER INFORMATION. VISITING IS FRI, SAT & SUN AND YOU HAVE TO REGISTER BETWEEN 8 AM & 2 PM. IF YOU NEED MORE INFORMATION THE 1-800 # FOR CDC VISITOR INFORMATION IS **** 1-800-374-8474**** AND THE PHONE NUMBER FOR CORCORAN SATF/SP IS **1-559-992-7100** AND THAT HAS AUTOMATED INFORMATION AS WELL. HOPE I WAS OF SOME HELP TO YOU AND ANYONE ELSE WHO NEEDED INFO ON THE SATF.

MY HUSBAND CALLED YESTERDAY AND THEY ARE OFF LOCKDOWN. AS FAR AS YOUR QUESTIONS. MAIL RUNS NORMAL IT'S THE PHONES THAT GET MESSED UP, THEY CAN'T USE THE PHONES WHEN THERE IS LOCKDOWN. YES WHEN THEY HAVE BIG LOCKDOWNS THAT MEANS THE WHOLE YARD IS ON LOCKDOWN. IT COULD BE FOR MANY REASONS. I DON'T REMEMBER WHY THEY WERE ON LOCKDOWN. IT WAS A FEW MONTHS BACK, I THING JANUARY WHEN IT STARTED. HOPE I HELPED.

Silvershadow...A3 means he is in "A" yard, building number 3. My boyfriend is in A yard, building number 2. My address for my sweetie would be "CSATF/SP, Facility "A", A2-and then his bunk number.

We are We....Got a letter today(8/12) from him and he explained alot of my questions. He told me about the yard he is in (A) and that he is in corcoran 2. He said I don't need to be concerned with the level. He has 19 points and I guess that is good. He got extra time because of things they counted when he lived in Florida almost 18 or 19 years ago! So he has 6 years left. Also asked about his friend who can't breath too well (Named Egy) if I can get him a nebulizer or if the Co's will approve one for him since I have some in storage. So all is left is to drive up and see him.

They prolly won't let you give him your nebulizer. He'll have to have medical order one for him....and then he may have to pay for it too. My boyfriend was able to bring his CPAP with him, but it was all checked out beforehand.

Good luck with your brother's friend getting the nebulizer. Medical is terrible there. My bf has been waiting to have an angiogram & angioplasty since March (it was set up and then they forgot). He's over a year overdue for one and has been feeling the effects very seriously. He's also been without his psych meds for about a week now, because they forgot to renew his rx. Frustrating to the max. He's hanging in there though.

CSATF C-yard is on lockdown right now (as of yesterday) except inmates in the C-gym.
They can not make phone calls and they are only allowed non-contact (1 hour, behind glass) visits right now.
