About SRCI's IMU::: Does anyone know if prisoners housed there come up for reclassification reviews or what? I have my husband in there for the next two years and i need to know if the sentence to that unit may be modified. He is allowed no phone calls, and i cannot visit because we are not legally married yet. If anyone knows any particulars on this IMU housing unit please let me know. I would appreciate it.

Snake River's number doesn't work anymore? I called last week and it was late-May 2004. You find out anything regarding that?

Hello,

Not sure how this works totally yet. My dad is at SRCI. I am about 3000 miles away so visiting him is not an option. We write regularly but still havn't seem him in about 7 years (hasn't been in that long). Just was curious how all this worked! :0)

My husband is in SRCI, are we allowed to take pictures, let alone bring a camera, or can the staff there take pictures of us?

They purchase pictures through canteen, so he has to have $$ on his books. A prisoner who is working takes pic with digital camera, cost $1.25 or so, they send it to him in about a week. He has to send you pic. You can take as many as you want.

From the DOC Administrative Rules (in answer to the original post):

(3) An assessment will be made by a committee designated by the functional unit manager on each inmate in continuous disciplinary segregation at least every 30 days. Adjustment to segregation and early release from segregation will be considered for recommendation to the functional unit manager.

Question New to this

My dad is in SRCI and has 8 years to go, will be 72 or so when he gets out, and this bums me out. I have a chance to visit him this weekend, 9/24/06. How long are the visits, and will he be able to visit my wife as well at the same time. We are traveling 2500 miles to see him. We are both registered visitors.

Visiting times are 8:00-11:00 a.m. and 12:30 to 3:45 p.m. If you are arriving on a weekday, plan to be there at least 30 minutes early and about 45 minutes to an hour early on the weekend. Just to be on the save side. Also, I think you mentioned this, but make sure that you and your wife (and anyone else visiting him) are indeed on the visitors list. Maybe call ahead of time and talk to his counselor. The phone number to the prison is (541) 881-5000.

There is a maximum of 4 adults that can visit an inmate at the same time. So yes, you and your wife could visit at the same time.

Also, no levi's or levi material of any kind can be worn. Blue tshirts are NOT okay to wear as they are the same color as what the inmates wear. If a lady is wearing a white shirt, make sure that the bra cannot be seen thru it. Also, no underwire bra's.

Make sure that you have your ID (drivers liscense) with you, and you can take in about $15.00 worth of quarters. They cannot be in a roll, but you can put them in a clear plastic bag.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Jennifer
