the officers working visitation at Preston E. Smith Unit this weekend went above and beyond for a couple of inmates. While visiting (contact) we noticed an office bring out 2 inmates from the noncontact section...and let them hug their family and have pictures made together....with no glass between them. It was nice to see a couple of officers with compassion. I don't have any complaints about the co's at smith unit...but this was especially nice of them.

That is great, we need more posts like that to give us encouragement and assurance that there are really nice CO's and they do care. I love this post...
that is so nice! its very rare to find or meet a nice co. I ve only met 2 that were nice enough to me and my honey-i.e, more visits and more kisses! wish there were more like them! thumbs up to them!!!
Wow this is crazii hehe @ Montysgirl it was the weekend of April 9th n 10th? Well if s0 I was 0ne of the 2 that g0t to hug, kiss, and take a picture with my husband. And yes it feel good to see that there are good guards at some units it felt very good to be able to touch him for the few seconds that I did. I can say that there are some GOOD officers at the Smith Unit, that wasnt the only time it happened for me but I shouldnt brag yet I should say that I am ONE lucky person out of hundreds that probably visit the Smith Unit. I went in late Feb to see my huband and he was in Medium Custody at the time G3 which means you arent allowed to have contact visits and when I went back on Sunday for my 2nd visit we actually g0t a 4hr contact visit becuz the guard told him to strip before coming out to visitation and my hubby told him there was no reason to becuz he was getting a glass visit which he my hubby thought was real messed up becuz I drive 6 hrs to see him the guard was nice enough to let us have that contact visit. First time to kiss, touch, and hug my husband in 7 months - hehe I was kinda nervous yet Excited !!

That is awesome. There are some compassionate CO's out there but you don't get to hear that much about them. It just means so much that words just can't explain it.
Good for them. Thanks for the posting. I love to hear when people are behaving like compassionate human beings.
