Default WA G2G Planning thread - May 05

I miss getting together with everyone!!!

Gosh, we need to all come together and talk, have adult conversations, eat food, giggle, cry, eat more food, share and care!!!!

Let's start a brainstorming session!!!

Brainstorming ideas:

1. When
2. Where (Lynnwood, Bellevue, Olympia, Yakima)
3. What kind (restaurant, bowling, overnight at hotel, etc)

Please put all ideas and suggestions in this thread!!

JJT

Okay, here is my suggestions

1. Time restraints; Fellah is coming home sometime the first week of May, so consider me gone April 30 - May 9. Can we get something up and running before the end of April??? Plus, I am not on a set work schedule yet, so have no idea week to week what days off I will have. Oh........... June is Fellah and my birthday.... so would it be too selfish to ask for a bday G2G???? Or is June too far in the future to plan something??

2. Yakima (hey, it's where I live!! LOL) or Olympia work best for me. But I can travel anywhere, as long as I get the time off from work.

3. A BBQ, picnic, or potluck type thing works with my budget. Something with food always works with me!!!

Well, with these outrageous gas prices (at el cheapo arco/am pm its 2.27 ), i am not able to travel outside seattle. Anytime works for me, really. However, if its ok i may need to bring my daughter. Even though my man gets out in 14 days, he's not allowed to have contact with her for 2 years or once he's been in treatment for awhile. (working on that one)
As to what type... well for me, anything cheap or free.....

I like the idea of bowling that way we can sit and chat for awhile, eat have drinks, take our time. Kenmore bowling alley is big and usually has lots of room.Kids can enjoy it too. But I am game if someone else can drive me somewhere. Although the end of April is not good as I have a visit in Nevada towards the end of April.

Well..I am on the cheap route as well...and my vehicle is collecting tree pollen in the parking lot. So, it would be easier for me, if it was in the Seattle, Lynnwood area...and also, not because of any other reason, but wanting to, I'd like my daughter there as well. I like the bowling idea....but I am game for a BBQ or potluck...I love to cook...And I'd love to have it before the man comes home which is either June 24th or July 1st...so before June 23rd would be awesome!! And I am willing to have it here at my house..but it is SMALL...so we might fair better in a bigger enviornment.

I'll be willing to meet in any location...now that there are more of us in Snohomish County, I'm pretty sure I could drag atleast one other chick with me for carpooling

Terra,
That would work good for carpooling. From this area I figure it would be me, you and atleast either Lisa or Kimmie if not both of them so that would make gas really affordable too if we have any kind of distance to travel.

Well I don't bowl, but I will watch.. hahaha.. my daughter loves to bowl though.. so it would be a good thing to bring our kids.. I work every single weekend, but if I can give them a date I can get it off.. so anytime works good for me except May 7, I have a class that Saturday... I'm buying a new truck next week and not sure how it will be on gas, but I will make it anywhere.. and if I have to pick up the other Vancouver girls, I will.. lol

Okay. So what I am hearing is Bowling, with people coming from far north, far east, and far south. Children welcome!!

So......... Olympia area???

I hope to be heading over to the Port Orchard area this weekend. Maybe I will have time to drive by the two bowling alleys, to check them out.

Okay. We need a date.

The only days at this point I can't make it at all. Is this month on the 14th and 17th. Other than that I am open. It would be easier though if it was after the first of May money wise, but I can work it out.

I agree that we could all use a couple of paychecks between now and a G2G.

So, how does...... May 21 or 22???

Carpooling would be much easier for me! And those dates sound decent enough to plan for it. Thanks JJT

If any one has room for two coming from the north..... I would probably be able to go then..... I'm about 15minutes northwest of downtown Seattle....
