At one time, only three states had conjugal visit programs -- New York, California, and Mississippi, but I heard that Mississippi was going to stop it -- not sure if they did.
From what I understand for the reason Texas and most other states do not allow conjugal visits is because of all the pregnancies that happened, causing a child to be born without a father and sometimes resulting in a person going on welfare. Texas just doesn't want to pay. Although they did supply them with condoms, people found ways around it. The only sexually transmitted disease that they checked for was aids. So the woman sometimes contacted a STD from her man. I wish we could have them but I can see their point.
I guess it does make sense. Didn't think about the people who would want and try to get pregnant. Being a single mom's no fun! I wouldn't do it on purpose, that's for sure. It sure would be nice to have that "special" time with my man though.
