Default Not getting program time.

Wondering if anyone else has dealt with this. My husband is a state inmate at a county jail. He completed a program called portles (sp?) and was supposed to get 90 days credit. He finished in may and they never added the time. He told me about 2 weeks ago they may not get the time. When I spoke with his counselor, she said there's been some 'confusion' about it. He said there was about 40 other state inmates in the class and they never got time added either. Is there someone I could call about it?

Unfortunately, if he hasn't been classified, he won't get it. Or if it's the class for county inmates only, he won't get it. I've been in talks with DOC and they have said there's nothing that can be done about it either. Sucks.

Would his classification be listed on Kool? Cause it says medium (level 3). He said that all the guys in the class were state inmates and none of them got time added.

Yes, that's his classification level so that's not the reason. It must be because it's a class for county inmates and not state recognized. That just happened recently in Christian County Jail.

I'm not sure of the name of the class but any class in a county facility that is for county inmates only. State inmates will not get credit for taking county classes. If it was a state class, then yeah, they'd get credit.

Would there be a specific department I can call and clarify?

You can call DOC and ask for the Jail Services Specialist.
