Default Governor Beshear Directs Justice Secretary to Move Forward on Criminal Justice Reform

Well....our Gov is moving sorta fast to get something done on prison reform = less $$ for the state to pay out. Let's hope it translates to my Mr. not being sent back and to your men coming home sooner!!!!

FRANKFORT, KY – As mentioned in his budget address, Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear, has directed Justice and Public Safety Secretary J. Michael Brown to move forward with a comprehensive review of Kentucky’s penal code, sentencing guidelines and other issues relating to the escalating costs of the state’s criminal justice system, especially regarding prisons and jails......to read more, click the link above.

I read that his plan is going to take up to three years to go into effect. It goes before the General Assembly next year. By then,(3 yrs) the public will probably be tired of Beshear, and choose not to re-elect him. His casino idea is not doing so well. Also no raises for teachers. Agencies that are already strapped have to make cuts I myself like him but I think the whole budget in crisis thing is a crock. I would love to see the guidelines change but I'm not holding my breath. I do my part in prison reform, thats all I can do. And just wait for my baby to come home.

Ladies, I hope you all are keeping up with Beshear and his reform plans. There was another article in the paper this week about it. Hopefully good things will come for KY. inmates soon. At least "Fo I Die," lol!
