Default Together 6 yrs and denied family visits

Hello....we've been married 3 years together 6 years and we cannot have family visits. My husband already gets them with his mom but he cant have them with me. Doesnt make any sense at all. Is there anyone out there who has been denied family visits?
I am doing research on this because I feel that I am being discriminated against, because others with far worse crimes get their family visits.

You are in WA and they are "supposed" to let you have family visits after 3 years of marriage. Did they give you a reason for the denial? Ray and I haven't gotten that far yet, but we will be there one day. I wish I could help you out, and I will keep my eyes and ears open for any information. I know this doesn't help you now, but know I am on your side!

They said it was because of his crime and infractions. He commited his crime when he was 17, he is now 43. He hasnt had an infraction in years, and none of his infractions are any other those that are on the list of infractions to be denied for. We have been model visitors for 6 solid years, never been in trouble...AND he already gets them with his mom. I have never been in any kind of trouble in my life. This doesnt make sense, and its unfair treatment. I am trying to figure out if others have had any trouble getting approved.

Thank you all for your support and please let me know if you hear of any others in the state that have been approved/denied who got married after incarceration but are past the 3 year mark.

thanks.

Excuse my language but that is total bullshit and there has to be a way for you to appeal it. I know, according to the wonderful Govenor of WA, that it is up to the facility superintendent as to who gets them or not, but if he is a model prisoner and you have no criminal record AND they give him family visits with his Mom there should be no problem! If his crime (no matter what it was) was 26 years ago, that shouldn't hardly have any bearing on the decision. People change and his record speaks for itself.

I will ask Ray at visit on Sunday if he knows anyone who had been denied and if he can find out why. There has to be a way to get this appealed and I will do what research I can to help you out.

We did appeal it, they STILL denied it. But...all I have to say is....its not over till its over! I feel discriminated against, and I WILL get to the bottom of this! I only expect equal and fair treatment...I dont want anymore than anyone else gets...but I dont expect any less either! Believe me...this will not be over until I get my family visits! I will continue to fight for what we deserve, just as much as the next person!

Gabby my understanding is in order to get the visits after being married while incarrcerated you only have to be married for three years. When my man was at mcneil and another couple that were there got approved for the EFV's and they were married after incarceration as if I remember correctly he went in when he was like 16. Especially if his mom gets them do not see why you would be denied

I don't know why you'd be denied if you're married, doesn't make much sense at all. I know the EFV program is to ensure family closeness, especially if children are involved. Maybe you should go to them and ask why that is?

Any DV can disqualify you or any restraining orders.
