Yay sportsball!

I had completely forgotten about the Super Bowl and booked a trip to visit friends out west over that weekend. I am sure we will be watching the game Sunday night.

Go Niners, I think.

As a Saints fan, I don't have a dog in this fight. I'll watch for the commercials but I don't mind who wins this year.

Mahomes grew up just a couple dozen miles down the street from where I live. Earl Campbell grew up just a handful of miles from my house, and most of his family still live close by. And then Johnny Manziel and his family are from here too.

How 'bout them Cowboys?

They'll be watching too. Lol.

hahaha, yep they sure will. Some of the memes on facebook are killing me!
One of my former coworkers who now lives in NV HATES the niners. Always talked smack about them. He was coming up with some funny as heck ones.
(one was a cartoon stick guy poking a Packers symbol on the ground saying..........do something.....) This was in the first half.

I'm wondering how the ratings will be. Most recently there hasn't been the rage of excitement regarding the game.

I'm waiting for March Madness! I enjoy football but I love basketball at every level.

Two young up and coming quarterbacks, neither team has been perennial participants, so it will be a great game and should get a huge audience. Then two good, no...great headliners for the halftime show and it will be quite the afternoon. Hopefully, this year's commercials will step up their game as the last several years have sucked.

Hey advertisers, DON'T AIR THEM BEFORE THE ******* GAME!!! They aren't a frickin surprise if we've already seen 'em.

California Bay Area Gal right here, born and raised... Go Niners!

I picked up a part-time weekend job a few months ago, serving / bar-tending at a golf club, it's been mad fun hosting and watching the football games golf.... I'm just not into that ((yet)), lol.

Im sure I will have no choice as far as having the game on.
I have a hard time watching a game if its close, or back and forth.

Hoping its a good game. I WILL be checking in from time to time unless its horrible for my team. Then I'll go to the store or something.
I cant make predictions, but I just hope we (niners) win. lol.

It's a tough call as to who will win. KC has the offense and all, but in the big games they have a tendency to choke in the early going. That's why the Patriots handled them as well as the Rams last year. If they get behind against the 49ers like they did the Texans....I don't know.
The 49ers have had a consistently good year and looking back in retrospect, I'd say the Patriots may have made a mistake in letting the back up to Brady slip away to the West Coast.
My guess.....I don't know........KC?

agree Firebrand.........i know the niners have been a cardiac team for me in some of their games.
I was glad for the Patriots giving up Garrapolo........(sp?)
Out D line is pretty good. But I hate the penalties. Could be a very bad thing this game. Hope its clean.
KC? I dont know but I know they are good too. Very good.

Ok guys...........today is the day. Niners vs Chiefs.
Im not doing much in the way of snackage, but hub did buy some sort of cracker mix, so I might have to try to step it up a little.
Only sort of special thing Im making is a pork roast.

Anyone else doing anything special for the game?

Nothing special here. The only bowl game my cat enjoys is emptying the food bowl when I fill it. Since Mahomes is from here, everything is now KC. Even the Colonel has knocked the F out of the chicken signs.

Yes, it's down to the big game of the year and I'm ready. Good food at a good place among good people....it doesn't get any better than that on Super Bowl Sunday. I've watched 18 Super Bowls in prison and well.......I'll take my chances out here on any day as opposed to in there.

Well I knew it was gonna be a tough game. Congrats to the Chiefs.
Maybe next year.

Sigh.....

The last time Andy Reid coached in a Superbowl (with the Eagles), I was locked up in the US penitentiary in Atlanta. The community TV was mounted outside my cell, facing away, and since we were locked in almost all of the time I didn't watch even though I could almost touch the TV. The Eagles lost, but the Chiefs won last night, Good news for Andy!

I went to visit my girl and it was funny. You could hear all the girls in the day room yelling and "partying" watching the pregame all day. Its like it was a free day or something for them. Funny. Also I was like laughing because my girl was all concerned... I played a joke and told her "congrats the CO said I can extend visit to 4pm! then she says "but .... the superbowl starts at 3!" hahahha Im the worst.

So what commercials did everyone like?
Hard to decide which ones I like but I'd have to say the Jason Momoa one was a riot!!
(rocket mortgage)
The Jimmy Falon one too.

The ones for Budweiser's hard seltzer were good too.....
Anyone else have one they liked?

Honestly, that ad creeped me smooth out.

I liked the Bill Murray Jeep Groundhog day one.

About the thing that really stands out is J Lo on the pole at halftime, she was awesome and just gorgeous. The game itself......I can't stand players that high side all the time after every play with all the outrageous body language. I was raised and taught back in the era of the 1970s to let your efforts on the field be that which speaks loudest and to let your conduct off the field or in between plays to be that of a gentleman or someone who at least appears to be mature enough to keep their emotions in check. All that has changed. They play like giants who run faster than the speed of sound, but they act like kids running a muck at a daycare center. No doubt, the NFL players of today are much bigger, faster, more athletic and for that matter more talented, but....like the old saying goes " it's not what you do that matters most, it's the way you do it."
