Hello, I am new here to the site after having found my way here through Google.com search. John Louis Evans III was my friend for many years, after his incarceration on Alabama's deathrow, as well as his "partner", Wayne Ritter. Originally, my involvement with all of this started out as a term thesis for my criminal justice class. After having flown to Alabama to meet with John and to do a "term paper" on him, I found myself becoming quite involved and as it ended up, he and I became the very best of friends. In fact, I would have to say that he was one of the very best friends that I have ever had in my entire lifetime. We had accomplished so many things together to help make the system in the State of Alabama a much more "humane" one. I have so many stories to share which were quite humorous at the time, but now, I look back on them, with a deep sense of loss. I spent a great deal of time on Alabama's deathrow, back in the early 80's and I know a lot of the people you have listed in your post. They were more than just names to me ~ they were actual people with faces, hearts and minds. People that I sat with, during my visits there, to see John. I have so much more I would like to share with you all. If there is anyway at all, that I can ever offer any kind of support or if anyone should ever need a "friend" to communicate with that actually DOES understand what you might be going through, please do not hesitate to contact me. I am quite open to any discussion of any of my experiences and/or feelings on this issue. May God forgive our lack of understanding and acceptance.

Default Bless Ed.

I would like to know more of Ed Horsley. My grandmother and the rest of my family were his penpals all the way to the chamber. I want to become a pen pal to any member of Death Row. Possibly if anyone knows his family, could they pass me on to them?

Bless all those souls, both victimised and convicted. My respect for all.

May all of them rest in peace. It is beyond words and sadness how mercyless we treat each other...
