One of the holiday cards i sent out was returned, it was to Todd B. in TX. They stamped "return to sender no cards authorized" twice, and placed a sticker over his address saying "return to sender need full name spn# and cellblock# to identify inmate" and circles this in red.I copied the entire address i was given, which i dont beleive included a cellblock#.

I just wanted to say that I have been seeing a lot of cards being returned for Todd. However, the card I sent him was NOT returned, so hopefully he recieved it no problem.

Todd was transferred back to county on a motion to revoke and they let him have some cards and others they returned. Thank you to all that sent him cards(or at least tried) and I am sorry that some were sent back. He really needed the cheer but appreciated the ones he did get, some guards just nicer than others. He will be back at TDC soon so will be asking for some love to be sent his way then. Again, thank you all.

Yes, it was Sean from PA. Great news that he's free now.

Soon Jody, He went to court again on Dec 3 and was sentenced(again), and TDC has updated their site and we are told he should move this next week sometime, of course it is a secret when. And the bad news is he was told no extra time but he is showing an extra year so he is not in very good spirits now. I will update as soon as he is settled.

The TDC is so not quick to get their inmates to their home units. They figure they will take their sweet good old time and it dont matter. It took a friend of mine like 4 months to get to his home unit and he was transferred like 5 times. So just gotta be patient and as soon as he gets to where he is going, we will flood him with love!!!

I received a returned card for Malachi Wren in the mail today. The inmate # was circled and a question mark was written next to it. I checked on FBOP and his correct # is 27451-180. I'm resending the card in the morning but others may get theirs back as well.

On my list I have Sean Williamson marked as 'Out'.
As I get notices from people about responses and such, I try to update my list. From the original list, here are those that are no longer receiving mail:

Stephen Ruffin (Out)
Charles Thompson (Out)
Maurice Martin (Out)
Michael Hopkins (Out)
Loui Dones (Out)
David Freeman (Out)
Willie Pondexter (No longer with us- d/r)
Sean Williamson (Out)

I hope this will help. I know several cards have been returned and apologize for that. I am trying to get the most current list I can for future swaps.

I made a mistake. David Freeman is still in prison. I'm not sure why I had 'out' marked by his name, but I was incorrect. Sorry for the mix up.

Dante is Meg'smom's son. He was transferred from county to Ohio DOC sometime in December. If what was returned was a birthday card, his birthday is actually not until July 6th and his address is subject to change again before then. Somehow he was on the January birthday list according to a prior thread Sending you a pm with his current address. If anyone else needs it pm me or Meg'smom.

Niki has there been any interest with the parents thread of joining us or are they going to continue to do their swaps seperately ? I Just thought maybe with all the work you've put into making this project a success again they would join us

Thanks for all you do

If there are other forums doing their own swaps, I'd be glad to send cards. I don't want to impose on another forum, though. I actually sent about 15 cards out for Christms to 'children in prison' through facebook. I'd be glad to send for other forums as well.

I believe some of the states have their own programs as well. I have probably 300 names between this forum, the parents forum and FB. You are more than welcome to send some cards out to the PWCIP "children".
Meg'smom is the person who sends out the monthly lists if you want to contact her.

I haven't heard any discussion about wanting to merge the two programs. The parents card program is a little different from this one in that we don't really do swaps. We just have a group of volunteers who will send birthday cards to some or all of the ones listed each month and then at Christmas everyone who wants to just decides how many they can handle and they are given that many names going down the list so that everyone gets about the same # cards. I'm not sure how many of the parents would feel comfortable sending cards out to other people's husbands or boyfriends but I'm going to try to recruit some of them to come to Elsa's project.
