Any updates to this thread?

Pretty much agree with everything sharizzu posted, except that any person that is arrested in Colombian soil, has the right to remain silent, as established by the Colombian penal code.

Was the book or movie ever created? I work for the TV company who produce the show Locked Up Abroad for National Geographic. The show is well known for telling people's story in their own words, with no commentary or voiceover, so it’s purely their experience and their memories of what they went through. Our focus is on telling the human story, explaining what drew the person towards the events that sent them to prison, as well as the positive, upwards trajectory when they were released.

I realise this was a long time ago now, but please do feel free to DM me if you think your daughter or her partner might be interested in telling their story.
