Default Visitation, what a pleasant suprise! Visitation room has been transformed

I realize that most posts that I have posted, since joining PTO last year, have been pretty negative. It is just so frustrating to see your son being treated so badly by other inmates and guards and having his property stolen. He is handling all well, so I am proud of him for that. A former Bunkie of his, who is out now, called me and told me what a fine young man that I had raised. He said my son was kind, easy going, very smart and got along with everyone. He said that there are just individuals who like to keep redouble going and stealing, etc. is how they do it. Made me a proud Mama Bear.

My husband and I visited our son this weekend at Liberty. We had not been there since March 29th and what a pleasant surprise we walked into. The entire visitation room has been transformed. Each wall is painted with a different theme (ocean is most dominant one). There is Sesame Street, Donald Duck, Goofy and several cartoon characters fishing, boating and just hanging around. A wall with a huge waterfall is in the works. The canteen window is painted to look like a beach hut and is named "Snack Shack". This change seemed to make everyone (guards included) more relaxed and cheerful. Kudos to whomever made this happen. Now if some of those changes and improvements could be done inside the compound for the inmates who do not get visits.

That's great!!! Its nice to hear this I haven't been able to visit my Husband this time. When I did before it was pretty nasty. Filthy bathrooms, tables, and it affected visits for a lot of families. So glad they are at least cleaning up where the public see's.
