Default JP5 Tablet problems?

Okay so one of my friends just sent me an e-mail and was wondering whether anyone elses penpals have said the same thing.

so part of her letter states:
My jp5 tablet is broken, I can no longer sync or send emails from it. Somehow it got some kind of glitch from an update. apparently it is an epidemic problem right now (everyone seems to be having the same issue) so hopefully jpay will send out something to fix it if not idk what I am going to do because the only way to get a new tablet is if I buy it.

She is in Georgia if that helps. I am just curious if others are reporting issues with it.

My man had to buy a new one for the same reason. It's working for now but after an update the previous one just wouldn't stnc

My penpal has never lied to me and been very open but doesn't help reading all of the horror stories on here there is always that element of doubt - you know.

If it is jpay they will say have the inmate put in a trouble ticket.

apparently lots of them have put in and we all know jpay they are taking their sweet arse time, I mean I am waiting for a response to support ticket i sent in 3 weeks ago.

My man opened a ticket, after 2 weeks they told him to resync and it didn't work so he opens another ticket, waits another 2 weeks so they can tell him to get a new tablet which he had to wait another 4 weeks to get

Thanks for all of the input - I told her to put a ticket in for them to come get their junk and we will get her a new one.

Sucks the whole kiosk thing and only limited time (which I understand when you have everyone who wants to use it) but instead of the usual replies you are stuck with like 2 or 3 lines because they trying to be quick.

So told her to tell them to pick up their dodgy tablet and we will get her a new one

Yes exactly. We were like that for 2 months cause he can't type fast lol. I'm glad you got this sorted

My SO can type an email to me while he's in his cell. I get very long emails. I don't think you have to be hooked to the kiosk to write an email on a JP5 tablet.

Most states requires you to plug the tablet in to the kiosk to sync to receive and send emails. My husband can write in his cell but he still got to go to the kiosk to send it. So if the tablet doesn't sync nothing is coming in or out.

I was expecting an email from Georgia this morning but nothing has come through. I'm assuming there is a problem with jpay.

The problem that occurred is that they are unable to sync emails meaning they are Only visible when they are on the kiosk which is limited time. I hope you get an email today. It's the worst waiting and nothing comes

Never expect that you will get them on a certain time. There is no problems on jpays side and I just received 2 myself. From Ohio but jpays systems are working. It could be delayed for 100 other reasons.
Its not actually jpay that screens the messages it's the facility.

This is the exact problem. Because she cant sync it there is nothing in or out and so sharing like 5 kiosks with 95 others, that continously freeze for up to an hour after the previous persons time runs out is really slowing things down.

But she has put a ticket in, and has asked them to pick up there tablet apparently the newer tablets aren't having the issues only the older tablets. So we are working on getting her a new one.

1 month after we got the new tablet, guess what? The inbox disappeared again! Jpay needs to fix this issue. I posted so you guys know that it might not be an issue with the tablet after all!

From what I know, the batteries don't last long. LO is on his second tablet to my knowledge. He mentioned his last one blew up but he was able to email from the kiosk. I've noticed he doesn't send video grams or pictures anymore. I think they have to be wearing uniform etc and maybe he can't be bothered with the regulations - I'm just guessing here.
