My foster kids' brother is at Lawrence in Ill. I just met him for the first time last month and we had four hour visits each day. It was a horrible 12 hour drive each way, and that was with us packing food to eat on the way except once a day. I about had a heart attack when I went in the front area and they said "ma'am, did you take a photo?" and I had. I didn't know there was a rule against it! After all I could have taken one from the road. I was lucky that they didn't take my camera. then they yelled at me when he and I both looked at the vending machines together. He had never had a visitor there. The search process wasn't bad. He just sent me a mother's day card certified mail!
my Boyfriend is in Pekin, IL but it is not IDoc he is in a Federal Prison.

They call it that I think because it over looks the Mississippi River, has AIR, many different activities but the most important reason is because it has alot of movement. They are free to roam from 8 a.m. until count at 12:30 and then they can roam the area again until 8 ish pm. They have 2-7 men dorms. When I called up there to see about visiting the CO said that the visiting room was very family oriented and cordial and that the guards even LIKE their jobs. :fb:
