Default Education for SO's? Do not receive credits?

Is this correct. They do not receive credits at all for attending any classes . Mine signed up for geology with a local college and was approved for it, but does not receive credits as he was told because he already had college. He wanted to obtain his AA degree while there.

BTW, they did give him a tablet for the course, not much of one, but something. Preloaded with the course.

Some states only give good time / credit for classes & programs to SO's after they complete SOTP....but it accrues until SOTP is passed, then the good time is deducted. Just depends on the policies in that state.

What sort of credits are being discussed here? And in what jurisdiction?

It can also depend on the length of sentence. My son has to serve 2 years for a probation violation. He isn't eligible for PIC because his sentence needs to be longer than 2 years. It stinks that he can be a model person there but get nothing off while someone who has a longer sentence (3 years) can possibly be released earlier than he can.
