Default How have you handled the "Time In Between"?

When you love someone as much as we do the man or woman we have in prison how do you cope? What do you do with the In Between time? I had a rocky relationship with my man right before he went in, but the one thing that was always there was our deep love and respect for one another. I know that when he comes home that we will be together and build a future together. Those things about the future i used to question i no longer do. The most difficult part of this process is finding the strength and courage to continue to live life and be happy while he is in the system. When he was transferred and there was about six weeks when i did not hear from him except the occassional letter I would have given anything for ONE phone call. Now that he is settled and week talk about 3 times I week i go crazy because now I want more. It seems the phone calls are not always enough and I just want more and more. Does this make sense? We have about 5 1/2 years of this left!! There are some days that are easy, i barely think about it and I am at peace with the situation. Then there are days where I barely can find the mental and emotional strength to start the day let alone get through it. How do you all handle this Problem? Advise, Advise, Advise!!!

There isn't really and magic solution to get through the time. You just get up each and every day and do it. Try to keep as busy as you can. Time goes by much faster when you arn't paying attention to it. Write lots of letters, visit as much as your able to. Don't focus on how much time is ahead of you but how much time you have behind you. You can do this. Just take it one day at a time.

Write heaps, take lots of photos, visit as much as you can, spend a lot of time with family and friends that support you.
Maybe take up a hobby or volunteer work or anything that you've always wanted to do.
I'm still figuring this one out myself lol.. but as everyones's suggested taking it a day at a time and not focusing on the bigger picture does help a lot.
Oh and PTO helps too!
