Default GRE anyone?

Hey all! I'm in the process of studying for the GRE. I'm taking it at the end of December. I bought the Princeton Review book to help. Does anyone have any suggestions from past experiences taking it?

I took it years ago, so I don't know that I'll be of much help. I approached it like I did the SATs -- I'm not real sure there's a way to actually "study" for it. It's trying to test your general knowledge. That Princeton guide is good, though. I remember that the subject speciific tests were MUCH harder than the original. I took the English subject specific one, and it had questions that I'm not sure that even now as an English professor that I could answer! Good luck!

I took it about a year ago, feel free to PM me with any questions
Take a lot of practice tests, and make sure you understand that it is adaptive, meaning it starts you off at a middle score, the more you get right the harder the questions get because you're moving into a higher score range, the easier they get the lower your score range.

Yea I've noticed it's a lot of math I did in high school. I got the Princeton review and that's exactly what it's been...a review

Yes, when I took it there were a bunch of words I had had never heard before so study up on your vocabulary and their definitions. There was also two essays that you needed to show how well you have developed the concept. Let's see ... lots of math, I can't really recall much more.

So I've decided not to take the GRE. I've actually found a lot of colleges are beginning to realize that it's not an accurate predictor and they are not requiring it. So that's a big load off my back!
