SCDC announced the death of an offender from McCormick Correctional

Sept. 18, 2020
4 p.m.

SCDC announced the death today of an offender from McCormick Correctional Institution, who died from complications of COVID-19.

Larry Noal Eaton, 79, who had chronic underlying medical conditions, died at an outside hospital on Sept. 18. He tested positive for the coronavirus on Aug. 17 and was hospitalized Sept. 12.

As of today, 43 offenders and 16 staff members at McCormick have tested positive for COVID19. Of those, 26 offenders and 6 staff are active cases; 14 offenders and 10 staff members have recovered.
