SCDC announced the death of an offender from Kirkland Correctional

"SCDC announced the death today of a terminally ill offender from Kirkland Correctional Institution, who also had contracted COVID-19.

Danny Lee Jenkins, 64, died Friday, Sept. 4, at the infirmary at Kirkland. He tested positive for the coronavirus on Sept. 3 and was treated and released from a local emergency department on Sept. 4.

As of today, 240 offenders and 59 staff members at Kirkland have tested positive for COVID-19. Of those, 153 offenders and 40 staff members have recovered."
