Excited to start our video visitation pilot at a few institutions! (Note: this will not replace in person visits but will be an additional option for family visits)

Yea! I hope the Pilot Program is expanded to include other facilities pretty quickly
Most of the prisons here barely have the technology to handle the tablets which are now crashing during phone calls. This is the second attempt at the pilot program, they did it a few years ago but failed to follow through.
We can only hope.

SCDC has started a pilot project to allow inmates to visit their families virtually. The project began at Camille Graham Correctional Institution and now has expanded to include Broad River CI and Leath CI. More information will be shared as other institutions begin to offer this. Virtual visits can be done on any kind of computer, android tablet or android phone. For now, iPads and iPhones do not work for virtual visits.
Virtual Visit Information:
1. Virtual visits are done on any type of computer, tablet or android phone.
2. Must be on the approved visitor list.
3. There is a flat rate of $10 for a 50-minute virtual visit. It is not refundable if the visit ends early.
4. The maximum number of people per visit is four (4).
5. Photo ID is required.
6. Visitation rules apply.
7. Video visitation is recorded and monitored.
