Claflin University, SCDC partner together to offer bachelor's degrees to inmates

"Those incarcerated will now have a chance to get their bachelor's degrees while in jail thanks to a partnership between Claflin University and the SC Department of Corrections.

According to a press release, Clalfin University was selected as part of the US Department of Education's Second Chance Pell Experimental Site, which started under Pres. Barack Obama.

The goal is to help inmates earn university credentials, and it will be at no-cost to the inmates."
