Default Inmate Family Advocate Snake River

Dear Friends, My nephew is an inmate at Snake River, Oregon. His mother (my sister lives in Nevada) wants to visit him around September 18th. I have heard that there is a lady (Becky Smith) in or around Ontario, Oregon that started a inmate family advocacy group named Freedom Spirit. I have searched the internet for info but have got zilch. This lady and her group have assisted people that have to travel long distances to visit their loved ones.

Does anyone here know how to contact this lady?

Thanks for your help.

what I found is if you google Freedom Spirit, Becky Smith (just as I have it here) you will come up with some links. Hopefully this will help you.

SanAntonioRay~
Have you tried the Oregon forum yet? My husband is at a different prison in Oregon but there is a specific one for Snake......you could start a thread and they're very helpful! I bet one_luv would know!

Becky is wonderful. She is supersweet and doing so much for SRCI inmates and their families. She has a large home there for families of inmates to stay at while visiting (I am not sure if adult men are allowed as it all women and children that I've seen). They will also take you to the prison if you need a ride, or pick you up from the airport.

HI! I'M RIGHT HERE!!! Becky Smith Director and founder of Freedom SPIRIT Inc.

I just found out about this site today. Yes we do advocacy work and would love to help anyway we can.

The services we offer are for families/friends of inmates at SRCI though we will and have helped many others. Some of the services we provide are housing, transportation and statewide carpooling info, telephone and visiting info, referrals and monthly CURE Support Group meetings. We are totally supported by donations only.

We do not have a web site as of yet. There is so much to getting one started that will do all that we need it to do.

Our office hours are 9am - 9pm Mountian time (that is 1 hour ahead of Portland) Sun - Sat

I hope this information doesn't vioalte any of PTO rules. I read them and feel unsure. I'm sorry if I have erred. Please someone let me know. Thanks,

Welcome to the PTO site. It is a wonderful resource for inmate families and future inmates. Please come often and dont forget to spread the word about us. There is a nice one page flyer available for the site that might interest you.

Does anyone object to us doing away with this sticky? I sent Becky a pm that was never answered. I know she has moved the home. We have outdated info. If someone would like to help get the info updated, then I will replace this thread with a new one. Or, I will be closing this one if we don't come up with the new info, and nobody objects.
Thanks,

I am wondering about calling her first. Dont give up just because she hasnt answered and maybe she isnt always on the computer. Seems there were a few gals who have been at her place just recently in the past few months. I say lets try calling her. before we eliminate her. OTTA SIGHT MEANS OUTTA MIND.
