Default Parole after Life

After being released on parole from a "Life" sentence in Victoria the parole period is set to 5 years. What happens after the 5 years?

I would be grateful to hear from anyone who has any direct knowledge of what happens or if such a situation ever is let to arise? That is, is it actually possible to complete the parole period for a life sentence?
